The Firm, a gelding by Acclamation, was purchased by Amazing Racing as a five year old out of Kevin Prendergast’s yard in Ireland. He was a talented individual but did not race at three years of age due to an injury sustained at two.
He successfully returned to the track as a 4yo, winning two races at Dundalk before we were able to acquire him. He was the winner of FIVE races in all – three of them for Amazing Racing – and prize money of £24,597.
All his wins were on the all-weather, but he also performed with credit on turf. He was placed at top tracks such as Chester, Newbury, and Haydock, where he always did well, on one occasion being beaten by only a short head and a nose into third place – an unforgettable photo finish!
He achieved back-to-back wins at Southwell in 2016 for regular jockey Rob Hornby, and also won for us at Wolverhampton when ridden by Adam Kirby.
The Firm has now been retired and is enjoying life in the paddocks.
