Daniel Mark Loughnane
Mark spent 15 years in the racing industry before taking out a training licence in his own right. He progressed from stable-lad, to head-lad, and Assistant Trainer, so he knows the job from the ground up. He also rode winners as both a Conditional and an Amateur jockey. He was privileged enough to work alongside some excellent trainers in both Ireland and the UK, which helped him to develop his own style of training.
In 2002, he took out his own licence back home in Ireland, and was rewarded instantly, with his first two runners being winners, and both at the Galway Festival no less.
At the end of 2011 he relocated his family to the UK and set up in training in Staffordshire at the well equipped Butterton Racing Stables near Newcastle Under Lyme, from where he has sent out a high percentage of winners from an ever growing string of horses - his strike rate was over 20% wins to runs in 2013, with 57% of his runners placed in the first three, and in 2014 that figure was 49% - so you always get a run for your money!
That doesn't happen by accident. Mark gets to know each horse personally, and builds a unique training programme based on their individual needs.
We think it is a good measure of his ability that after training the Amazing Racing horses for a fairly short period of time he has already ensured that two of them have won races, and we are confident that he will continue to be successful for us. He is definitely a trainer going places and we are delighted to be involved in the yard.
