Massaat Filly

£822.00£3,288.00

Massaat yearling filly, the daughter of 11 time winning mare SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES

Description

This Massaat filly is out of a mare who is very dear to our hearts.

SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES was a prolific winner for one of our syndicates. She retired with 11 wins to her name, and we expect big things from her daughter.

We chose MASSAAT to cover her when she retired to stud. This mating is rated a “20/20” match by the G1 Goldmine pedigree analysis system.

Similarly-bred horses have been Stakes winners, and the cross is rated “Outstanding”. We hope that this will help ensure she achieves great things.

Trainer and Plans

The filly is being trained by JACK CHANNON, who is based at West Ilsley, Berkshire. He has achieved excellent results since taking over the licence from his father, the legendary Mick Channon.

Jack is really happy with the filly. She has gone straight into the system with the rest of the yearlings, and hasn’t missed a day since joining the yard. She will be in full training now all the way through until the start of the season. A strong and compact filly, she looks like an early season type.

The filly is GBB Registered, which means she is qualified for a series of races which pay a £20,000 bonus to the winner over and above the normal prize money. These races will be her initial targets next year.

Sire Details

MASSAAT was a classy performer who has produced quality offspring with great conformation and good temperaments. He competed at the highest level at two, three and four years. He was 2nd in the Dewhurst Stakes at two, and 2nd in the 2,000 Guineas to Galileo Gold, with several future stallions behind him. He got better with age, as many of his progeny have done, and as a 4 year old he won the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes.

His best offspring so far have been:

  • Docklands –  won 3 races including the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot 2023, with earnings of £128,289
  • Queues Likely – won 5 races and 2nd in the German 1000 Guineas; sold for £240,000 to go to Australia
  • Coco Jamboo – Won 3 races then sold for 160,000gns to race in Australia, where he won a Group 3

Dam Details

SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES ran for one of our Amazing Racing syndicates. She won every year for five years, achieving eleven victories in total, and and was placed a further 21 times. Her best distance was probably a mile and quarter, but she won from 1 mile upwards. She came from a family that produced several multiple winners, and was a very genuine filly. We think her daughter will initially run over sprint trips, but should step up in distance as she matures.
