SUNSHINE AND ROSES is a 3yo filly by MASSAAT out of a mare who was a prolific winner for one of our previous syndicates, SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES, who was popular with racegoers. Our filly was unlucky not to win as a 2 year old, but was placed four times, including a thrilling finish where she came third, just beaten by a short head and a head.
She has had a short winter break, and is now being prepared to start her three-year-old campaign, when she is expected to do well. She shows a great attitude, and will come on massively in 2026, as most of Massat’s offspring tend to do. Her dam won her first race as a three year old, and went on to win eleven races in total, so the prospects are excellent for her to become just as successful.
Being with a top trainer, Jack Channon in Berkshire, we believe the sky is the limit for Sunshine And Roses so we anticipate some great days out!

The mating of MASSAAT and SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES is rated a “20/20” match by the G1 Goldmine pedigree analysis system.
Similar matings produced Stakes winners, cross is rated “Outstanding”.
Sunshine And Roses is trained by JACK CHANNON at West Ilsley in Berkshire. He has achieved excellent results since taking over the licence in 2023 from his father, the legendary Mick Channon.
Jack has been really happy with the filly and has repeatedly said she definitely has wins in her. He expected her to lose her maiden tag as a two year old but thinks she will improve with maturity, and she has certainly strengthened up over the winter so the prospects are good for the new season.
Sunshine And Roses is GBB Registered, which means she is qualified for a series of races which pay a £20,000 bonus to the winner over and above the normal prize money. These races will be among her targets in 2026.
MASSAAT was a classy performer who has produced quality offspring. He competed at the highest level at two, three and four years of age. 2nd in the Dewhurst Stakes at two, he also came 2nd in the 2,000 Guineas to Galileo Gold, with several future stallions behind him. Massaat got better with age, as many of his progeny have done, and as a 4 year old he won the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes.
His best offspring so far have been:
- Docklands – won 4 races incl. Britannia Stks and Queen Anne Stks (Gr.1) at Royal Ascot, and earnings of £1,262,136
- Queues Likely – won 5 races and 2nd in the German 1000 Guineas; sold for £240,000 to go to Australia
- Coco Jamboo – Won 3 races then sold for 160,000gns to race in Australia, where he won a Group 3
Dam Details
SUNSHINEANDBUBBLES ran for one of our Amazing Racing syndicates. She was a prolific winner, with victories every year for five years, achieving eleven victories in total, and was placed a further 21 times. She won from 1 mile upwards, and came from a family that produced several other multiple winners. Sunshine And Roses initially ran over 6 furlongs, but for now her best trip is probably 7f or a mile, and she should step up in distance as she matures.
